Notes
1. Waterproofed poplin is best as raincoat for the city, oilcloths and trenchcoat for the countryside.
2. The black wool dress has been around for 3 years, the blue one with it's delicate colour for 2 winters and a spring. They will now become one dress.
3. The sandy coloured coat are now so bleached that it is time to dye, turn and made into a new nice wool dress for winter. For example, dye it to match the fuchsia-red jacket.
4. Red felt hat.
5. Checkered skirt in brown, blue and grey looks good with the navy blue flannel blouse. The colour are chosen so the skirt can be worn with the navy blue suit jacket, the grey suit jacket and the old brown sport jacket- if there is anything left of that one.
6. Sporty hat and bag is made of the checkered fabric.

What to get
Dresses and blouses
Dotted cotton dress in navy blue and white, buttoned in the front, with a kerchief and "solsnibb", a sleeveless blouse for beach wear. (I think this means that it's just a skirt that is buttoned in the front)
Light-blue dress in "laundry"" silk.
Dotted blouse in the same fabric as the dress but in the colours red and white. Works with the cotton dress and the grey flannel shorts

Coats and suits
Raincoat
The grey flannel skirt is made into a pair of shorts.

Shoes
Brown walking boots
Summer shoes (with wood soles)

Hats
White sportshat

Accessories
Bag for bathing clothes in the dotted dress fabric, lined with oilcloth
Brown gloves

Notes
1. The grey flannel skirt is now so worn that the only thing to do is to make a pair of shorts out of them. The red and white dotted blouse can be worn with the blue and white dotted the dress instead of the "solsnibb".
2. The checkered skirt and the grey flannel jacket are ideal for bicycle riding.
3. Shorts, "solsnibb", kerchief and bag with a dress that is buttoned in the front. Dotted in navy blue and white.
4. The brown silk noil dress and the white shirt dress are now mostly worn out and gets a successor in light blue silk noil.

Dear Miss Isis,
I'd be interested to learn a bit about under clothes. Both the necessary and the frivolous.
My interest in your blog was prompted by turning 60, and a weight loss, rendering all of my clothes ill-fitting.
Now I have the desire to grow into old age with grace, feminity, and dignity.
New underware is a much needed first step.

Auntie: I agree- if you feel pretty underneath you feel pretty all the way. :)
