Mrs Depew's patterns
I am sure many of you have already heard about Mrs Deprew Vintage & Notions at Etsy. I have known about her for some time, but only recently bought a few patters, and though I haven’t really finished anything, I’m delighted enough to point the store out for you. Apart from vintage patterns and a few notions, like a reproduction bra buckle.

Hat patterns, part 2
Here are some rather nice hats from the 30's and 40's that are either knitted or in crochet. I’m a bad knitter and I have never been able to fathom crochet, but perhaps a hat would be a good project to start with. I really like that so many of these hats have a matching bag to go with them.

Sewing tricks and planning and some patterns

I have been lamenting my lack of sewing time- I have felt that I never have time to sew. Working full time, having a family to take care of, having to do household chores. Woe is me as I had a terrific pity party. Then I sobered up a little as I probably have as time as anybody else, I’m not exactly alone working and keeping house. So, no reasons to feel sorry for myself, but there was still the fact that I don’t manage to sew as much as I like. And as a letter in the mail, Debi guest blogged about the very subject at Tilly and the Buttons. It really gave me food for thought and one thing I realized is that I put my sewing time way back on my to-do lists.

Reprinted patterns

I have no inspiration at all right now, due to a really bad cold. My whole head feels like it been stuffed with cotton and I swear your IQ drops when it feels like that. So I take the easy way out and make a post that I almost finished awhile ago on reprinted patterns. Here is a little list on where you can buy some. I’m sure there are more of them out there, so if you think I have missed any, please tell me.
There are a lot of vintage patterns out there, but my problem with those is that I have a hard time finding them in my size. I am, what in the 1940’s was called, junoesque, which I think is a much lovelier thing to say than plain plus sized.

A review on Vintage Vogue V2858
Vintage Vogue V2858 is a re-print of a pattern from 1944 and can be made in two versions. A short dress or as an evening gown with a front slit. It is now out of print.
I have a friend who has a fabric store, which means that I often buy fabrics when all I intended was to say hello. Not that I'm complaining, but my wallet and storage space may have other opinions. On one of these visits I spotted a rayon fabric that just cried out to me that it needed to become the short version of V2858. It could be nothing else. Then I came home and looked at the pattern and realized that my fabric has the exact colours as the short dress. Felt a little spooky...

Sewing plans
I have revised my plans slightly, which I probably will again, but here is where I am right now. After thinking back and forth a bit, I feel that I really should try to stick as close to the list as I can. Otherwise I think I may start to simplify things and one reason for doing this project is just to challenge myself and step out of my safety zones.
