Revlon lipstick

I found this nifty piece of information on The Fedora Lounge. Mosly 50's shades, but still. Now I don’t really need more lipsticks, but I get cravings nevertheless…

I do wish Raven Red were available as a lipstick too.

  1. Oh, very nifty! I had a favorite red lipstick shade from Revlon for years...still looking for its equal! Will have to try Certainly Red :)

  3. Looking at the colours I wished Revlon was available in Germany at all. Fire and Ice looks like something I´d wear every day...

  4. They don't seem to be available in Sweden either.

  6. I get lipstick cravings, too! I have a little sampler packet of Revlon lipsticks from the '90s, and Raven Red is in there, it's a great vintage shade.

  7. Huh. Raven Red was still being made as a lipstick in either the late 90s or very early 2000s; perhaps you could find some at one of those websites that sell cosmetics that are no longer made? It is a great color- I still have a bit of a tube.

I had no idea 'Cherries in the Snow' was being made again- they stopped it for awhile. It's a very blue red and I LOVE it!

  8. Rowenna: I never had any Revlon lipstick. I'd like to try some now, though! :)

Lady Cherry: I look forward to read your reviews when you get to them!

Katrin: I think you can order Revlon from Drugstore.com to Europe, but I'm not sure what the postage would be. The lipsticks are quite cheap though.

monika & Kristina: You can get a few colours from this Swedish webstore:

Sadly just Love That Red from this chart, though.

Tia: Yes, it looks like a very nice shade!

Laurie Brown: That's a very good idea, I ill check that out. :) I have heard rave reviews on Cherries in the Snow- it's definitely one I want to check out!

  9. I worked for Revlon in the mid-90s and remember Raven Red being around (in fact, I have a rather worn-down tube myself that is semi-hoarded) then. I agree it may be worth looking around online! Next time I'm at the drugstore I'll have to look and see if it is still made. It's definitely a dramatic colour.

The other option might be one of the discontinued makeup companies. You can order something no longer made, though sometimes they ask you send a little of it if you can find it to make it easier for them.

  10. Jen: It does seem to be available at some sellers- I just need to find one that ships to Sweden. :) The nail polish seems easier to find, but it would be fun to be able to match lips and nails.
